More than 20,000 students under the voting age cast ballots in Student Vote Manitoba for the 2016 provincial election.
After learning about the democratic process, researching the candidates and party platforms, and debating the future of Manitoba, students cast ballots for the official candidates running in their local electoral divisions.
As of 1 pm on April 22, 21,837 votes were reported from 249 schools, representing all 57 electoral divisions.
The Progressive Conservatives won a majority government with 30 seats and the NDP will form the official opposition with 14 seats. The Liberals won 11 seats and the Green Party won 2 seats.
