Voting in a Democracy
Classroom Resources
These resources are intended to improve civic literacy, introduce the concept of democracy and elections, increase understanding about government and representation in Canada, and teach students how to effectively participate as active and informed citizens in their community.
The lessons are designed for Grades 4 to 8 and supported by videos, slide decks (in Google Slides and PowerPoint), and student activities in various digital formats. Refer to the Lesson Pathways for options to condense the activities.
Slide decks for lessons 1-3 are currently ready to use, and we are planning on adding the remainder this week.
