Student Vote Day
Schools will organize a vote for the local candidates in their school’s electoral district in lead up to or on Monday, April 28.
Materials
Registered schools will receive a Student Vote Election Manual, ballot boxes, voting screens and ballots for the coordination of their Student Vote.
The Student Vote Election Manual is intended to help guide you through Student Vote Day. You will find suggestions on how to operate the parallel election within your school, including possible voting methods, election worker roles for students, and guidelines for setting up your polling stations.
Submitting Your Results
Please ensure you report your results by 4:00 p.m. local time (based on the time zone of your school) on Monday, April 28.
School submissions received by the deadline will be included in the preliminary results shared on election night. Afterwards, the results will be updated daily with any submissions received after the deadline.
The Student Vote Canada results will include the seat count and popular vote by party, results by electoral district and individual school tallies.
IMPORTANT: All schools must keep their Student Vote results confidential until after the close of official election polls. Election officials should be sworn to secrecy.
Digital Tally Sheet
Consider using a Tally Sheet to assist in the tabulation of votes. An electronic version is available below, and there is a physical copy available in the Election Manual.
