2021 Newfoundland and Labrador Municipal Elections

CIVIX is organizing a Student Vote parallel election coinciding with the 2021 municipal elections. All elementary, intermediate and high schools in the province are invited to participate.

Registered schools will be supplied with a variety of learning materials, including lesson plans, videos, slides and digital activity templates, as well as election supplies for the coordination of the vote. There is no cost to participate.

After learning about government and the election process, researching the issues and candidates, and debating the future of their community, students cast ballots for the official candidates running in their school’s municipality.

2021 Nunavut Territorial Election

CIVIX is organizing a Student Vote parallel election coinciding with the 2021 territorial election. All elementary, intermediate and secondary schools in the territory are invited to participate.

Registered schools will be supplied with a variety of learning materials, including lesson plans, videos, slides and digital activity templates, as well as election supplies for the coordination of the vote, as well as student activities in Inuktitut. There is no cost to participate.

After learning about government and the election process, researching the issues and candidates, and debating the future of Nunavut, students will cast ballots for the official candidates running in their school’s electoral district.

2021 New Brunswick Local Government Elections

CIVIX organized a Student Vote parallel election coinciding with the 2021 local government elections. All elementary, middle and high schools in the province were invited to participate.

After learning about government and the election process, researching the issues and candidates, and debating the future of their community, students cast ballots for the official candidates running in their school’s municipality.

Based on current tallies, 6,456 total ballots were cast by student participants from 60 schools, representing 41 municipalities.
