Student Vote Day
Schools will organize a vote for the official candidates running in their electoral district in lead up to or on election day.
Materials
Registered schools will receive an election manual, ballot boxes, voting screens and ballots for the coordination of their Student Vote Day.
The Student Vote ‘Election Manual’ provides suggestions on how to organize the voting process, including possible voting methods, election official roles for students, and guidelines for setting up your polling stations.
Submitting Your Results
You can choose to hold your Student Vote Day for the Newfoundland and Labrador provincial election on any day leading up to and including election day.
All results must be reported by 4:00pm NT on Tuesday, October 14.
School submissions received by the deadline will be included in the preliminary results shared on election night. Afterwards, the results will be updated daily with any submissions received after the deadline.
The Student Vote Newfoundland and Labrador results will include the province-wide seat count and popular vote for each party, results by electoral district and individual school tallies.
IMPORTANT: All schools must keep their Student Vote results confidential until the end of voting on election day. Student election officials should be sworn to secrecy.
