The Progressive Canadian Party is a centre-right party that was founded in 2004 and nominated 16 candidates for the election that year. Ernie Schreiber was its first leader.
In 2005, the party held a convention which designated Tracy Parsons as its new leader.
The Progressive Canadian Party has run several candidates in each election since its inception.
The party sees itself as a successor to the former Progressive Conservative Party. It has never won a seat in the House.
Sinclair Stevens was party leader from 2007 until 2016 when he passed away.
Joe Hueglin is currently the interim party leader.
